Introduction

Masala Chaas is a cooling drink that can be made in a minute. Its a best summer drink which is very refreshing. Its made with yogurt, water and some basic spices! It is also called as “Buttermilk”.

Although its a best summer drink, it can be enjoyed daily. It helps in digestion, calms stomach and reduces blood pressure.

When you have a spicy meal, it is always great to have yogurt based side dishes/drinks along with spicy meal.

What ingredients are used for Masala Chaas?

You need

  • Yogurt
  • Water
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Black Pepper Powder
  • Chat Masala
  • Coriander

How is Masala Chaas made?

All you need for making chaas is just a blender or mixer grinder.

Take all the ingredients together and simply blend it till it becomes frothy.

Some more yogurt based dishes – Boondi Raita

Recipe

-2 tbsp of Yogurt

-1/4 tsp of Salt

-1/4 tsp of Sugar

-1 cup of Water

-1/4 tsp of Black Pepper Powder

-1/4 tsp of Chat masala

-1 tbsp of Coriander, chopped

Step 1: Take all ingredients into a bowl.

Step 2: Blend it till frothy. You can use hand blender or mixer grinder. I have used hand blender here.

Tips

1.You can add green chilly as well if you wish.

2.Using of black salt instead of normal salt will enhance the taste of chaas.

3.If you are serving it immediately, then use chilled water in the recipe. If you are serving it after some time, then you can use normal water and then refrigerate it. While you serve after some time, just stir it once and then pour into glasses.

4.You can even add roasted cumin powder to the buttermilk.

5. If you do not like coriander leaves coming into your mouth while sipping, then strain them after flavors have seeped in.
