Introduction
Masala Chaas is a refreshing and healthy drink which can be prepared in no time. All you need is yogurt, water and some basic spices.
This is a very well known drink in India and is made on daily basis in most of the households. Its an instant relief for indigestion.
“Masala Chaas” is actually an Indian name for Buttermilk.
Buttermilk offers improved blood pressure, bone and oral health.
When you have a spicy meal, it is always great to have yogurt based side dishes/drinks along with spicy meal. Boondi Raita is one such yogurt based side dish.
What ingredients are used for Masala Chaas?
You need
- Yogurt
- Water
- Salt
- Sugar
- Black Pepper Powder
- Chat Masala
- Coriander
How is Masala Chaas made?
All you require is a blender.
Take all the ingredients together and simply blend it till it becomes frothy.
Recipe
-2 tbsp of Yogurt
-1/4 tsp of Salt
-1/4 tsp of Sugar
-1 cup of Water
-1/4 tsp of Black Pepper Powder
-1/4 tsp of Chat masala
-1 tbsp of Coriander, chopped
Step 1: Take all ingredients into a bowl.
Step 2: Blend it till frothy. You can use hand blender or mixer grinder. I have used hand blender here.
Masala Chaas is ready.
Tips
1.You can add green chilly as well if you wish.
2.Using of black salt instead of normal salt will enhance the taste of chaas.
3.If you are serving it immediately, then use chilled water in the recipe. If you are serving it after some time, then you can use normal water and then refrigerate it. When you serve after some time, just stir it once and then pour into glasses.
4.You can even add roasted cumin powder to the buttermilk.
5.If you do not like coriander leaves coming into your mouth while sipping, then strain them after flavors have seeped in.
