Biscuit canapes are easy,savory and mouth-watering finger food which can be instantly prepared. This is a recipe that falls under cooking without fire.
Biscuit canapes can be prepared as a tea-time snack or for parties, get-together. Easy to make and awesome in taste. 🙂
No wonder if I say kids like it a lot. Imagine your kids coming home after school or class, making these canapes can just refresh them.
In this,we use biscuits as a base, make spicy toppings that are decorated over the biscuits. Monaco biscuits or Krack-jack biscuits go very well in this recipe. This can be enjoyed with tea, milkshake or juices.
I have used farsan for making topping but you may prepare topping of your choice. You may include boiled corn, tomatoes in your canapes. If you use corn then it will not be falling under cooking without fire category.
Biscuits are high in sodium and so should be consumed in moderate quantity.

-Farsan around 1 cup
-1 medium sized onion, finely chopped
-1/2 tbsp of chaat masala
-1/2 tbsp of black pepper powder
-Salt as per taste
-1 1/2 tbsp of Tamarind chutney
-Grated cheese as required
-Green chutney (optional)
-Tomato Ketchup as required
-Chili flakes as required(optional)
-Oregano as required (optional)
Step 1: Mix farsan, finely chopped onion, chat masala, black pepper powder, salt and tamarind chutney in a bowl and mix it well. You can even add tomatoes, coriander if you like.
Your topping is ready.
Step 1: Take a biscuit in plate and apply green chutney over it. You can use ready-made green chutney that’s available in market. Instead you can use tomato ketchup.
Step 2: Just place the topping over the biscuit. Spread some grated cheese over the topping.Sprinkle a bit of chili flakes and oregano. However, this is optional.
Repeat the procedure to make canapes as per your requirement. Make sure you serve them immediately.
1.Serve the canapes immediately as it may turn soggy and break.
2.You can change topping as per your choice. For example, you can use boiled corn or potatoes.
3.Make sure you use saltybiscuits. Do not use cream biscuits or cookies.
